Jerry and Sarah have been married for eight years. They wanted to experience some excitement and fun before they decided to have a family and so they purposely constructed an especially exciting social life.

The essential issue, it needs to be stressed, is that virtually everything they do socially is related to drinking. For instance, all of the dinner engagements, parties with friends, happy hours, sporting events, and family get-togethers they frequent are associated with drinking.

Jerry and Sarah Start to Take Note of Some Noticeable Alcohol Related Issues That are Related to Their Excessive Drinking

If they were infrequent drinkers, this wouldn’t be a major problem. Given the fact that they drink rather excessively, nevertheless, they are starting to notice some instantly recognizable alcohol-related issues in their lives.

For example, just three weeks ago Jerry was placed under arrest for his first DWI and has been taking time off from work due to alcohol-related health problems. Moreover, Jerry’s last two performance evaluations at his place of employment have been less than adequate and he has started to fail to recall what he says or does the times that he drinks. Lastly, Jerry has been experiencing sleep-related problems and his family has begun to display some uneasiness about his drinking problems.

In a similar manner, Sarah has been feeling disheartened with life and to cope with this, she has been drinking more habitually than any time in the past eleven months. Furthermore, Sarah has been getting more than a few throbbing migraine headaches and experiencing painful hangovers from drinking. Finally, Sarah has been feeling substantially less energetic in the morning, she has been getting to work late at least once per week, and she has been getting some damaging criticism from her relatives, family members, friends, and coworkers about her irresponsible drinking.

Watching the Television and Inadvertently Finding An Out-of-the-Ordinary Program About the Signs of Alcoholism

One Wednesday evening while watching TV, Jerry and Sarah accidently discovered a fascinating documentary about the signs of alcoholism.

This television program was a real source of discovery to Sarah and Jerry because several of the alcoholism signs that were highlighted looked like they were unshakably related to several of the alcohol-related drinking problems Jerry and Sarah had been suffering through.

A Truthful Discussion About Drinking Circumstances Reveals Alcohol Related Health, Legal, Relationship, Employment, and Financial Problems

After watching the TV special, Jerry and Sarah made up their minds to have a straightforward dialogue about their drinking activities. They both were in agreement that most, if not all, of their social activities had something to do with drinking, that they were drinking in a hazardous manner, and that as a married couple, they were starting to observe alcohol related financial, legal, health, employment, and relationship problems for the first time since they were married.

With thoughts of the TV program still running through her mind, Sarah asked Jerry if some of the alcohol addiction signs they have been displaying could mean that they are addicted to alcohol or maybe becoming alcohol dependent. Jerry didn’t know the answer to Sarah’s inquiry and so he suggested that they make an appointment with one of the healthcare practitioners at the local substance abuse rehab center to find out more about the gravity of their drinking circumstances.

Concentrating On Your Drinking Issues Just May Lower Your Sense of Dread and Give You Some Quietude

Ironically, although their drinking situation hadn’t yet changed, it was apparent that Sarah and Jerry were at least concentrating on their drinking issues, they were excited about finding out more about their drinking situation, and they were interested in finding out how they could appreciably cut back on or get rid of the drinking-related problems that had begun to worsen.

When Sarah and Jerry went to bed that evening, they arrived at a decision that the next morning, Jerry would call and schedule an appointment for both of them at the drug and alcohol abuse rehabilitation facility located in the middle of town. After they promised one another that they would do whatever it takes to surmount the drinking problems that had cropped up in their lives, they in point of fact had the most peaceful night’s sleep they could think of in the last seven months.

Just before she fell asleep, Sarah turned to Jerry and commented how painless it is to lower one’s nervousness and actually experience a sense of calm by handling one’s problems head-on and choosing to do something productive about them.
